Things People Shouldn't Say

Hidden in this review is something people shouldn't say about themselves, body-wise.  Can you find it?

I purchased this item over the weekend! This top looks more rich in person. The fit is absolutely amazing! Usually I fall victim to being in between sizes. Either the small it too snug or the medium is too big. I often refer to my size as "smedium". Because of the tapering in the torso, the medium was perfect. I paired this with a pair of the blue non-iron slim slacks and it was office friendly, comfortable, and very sleek!
PS, the fabric used at the shoulders adds a bit of edge to what otherwise would be a boring top!
BR you got this one right!!!

Fortunue Cookie Chronicles #3

It is better to ask some questions than to know all the answers.

David Gandy Monday!

There's something cheesy about the deep V-neck sweater, but he still makes it work. It's David Gandy for goodness' sake!

David Gandy Election Day Tuesday

"So, let me get this right. You mean I have to actually get dressed to go vote?"

Um, not for me you don't, but do try to go vote.

Happy Election Day!

Gone Girl

You wear it well, Ben.

Couldn't finish the book before seeing the movie, but I'm still going to read it. It'll probably be even better although I loved the movie. Fucked up shit.

...and it doesn't involve seals.

Saved this song on my YouTube channel to listen to later on. Well, it's later on and here it is:

Reminds me of my younger days at some sad gay dance bar downtown. Maybe the locale wasn't sad, but the idea of it being the only place I could go to make friends and some such crap like that. *sigh*

Fortune Cookie Chronicles # 1

Whenever I eat Chinese food, I collect the slips that come with my fortune cookies. I've had this idea about writing down what each little piece of paper says, but just haven't gotten around to it. I think they are often profound and absurd at the same time.  I'll try to use all of them, but only write about them sparingly.

No one would remember the Good Samaritan if he only had good intentions.

Missing France

OK, so it used to be that every time fall rolled around I would get blue because old break-ups, family deaths, and other such nonsense. They all seemed to occur during this season.

So, while I was walking around my neighborhood this evening, my mind drifted to thoughts of France. I realized I'm not feeling blue, but, instead, I'm longing. I'm longing for all things French. I don't need to go there soon, but I like to think about it now and then.

I've been to France twice now and I've loved my visits. I loved walking the streets of Paris, the halls of Versailles, and driving through the countryside. I actually loved the people. There was only one time when a French person was not-so-nice and that was when I tried taking a picture of magazine porn at one of those kiosks along the Seine. Whoah! Don't ever do that. (be warned)

So while this video doesn't show much of France, it does convey what I feel when I think of France. No, not stomach cramps or delirium, just a longing.

Never Can Say Goodbye

I've never been a fan of goodbyes. It always feels like a tiny part of my soul just disappears into some void and never comes back. They're not all forever, but my mind sometimes just doesn't know how to file the feeling into the proper box and put it away.

Today I said goodbye to my friend Julie and her husband Andy. She's moving to the U.K. to finally actually live with her husband after shuttling back and forth for several years between two continents. I'm extremely happy for them, but at the same time sad. I'm sad that I won't get to see my friend anymore. I'm sad that I won't get to share my summer lunches with her. On the other hand, I'm happy that she'll finally be with her husband every day. She'll be back she says. (fingers crossed!)

She's not the only friend who's moved. J.K. left New Orleans earlier this year and that was tough too. He moved to San Diego to greener, or browner, pastures. (It doesn't rain much there.) He's happy there,  and I'm happy he's happy, but I miss him too.

My mind will eventually help my heart feel better. After all, my friends are only a FaceTime call, a Facebook text, or an email away.
